Multibillion-dollar business defense contractor providing advanced technology research, development, and manufacturing of defense weaponry and systems to the Department of Defense.

The Situation

The client has had significant growth in the last decade to support current major US conflicts around the world. The client executes a consistent refresh of IT systems to support personnel growth and technology advances to maintain productivity and technology support for engineering, development, and manufacturing staff.

The Challenge

The client’s objectives were centered around speed and agility and required a solution that could:

  • Identify life-cycle driven IT technology required to enhance engineering and development productivity
  • Test and evaluation new IT systems for requirements validation
  • Procure and deploy thousands of IT products (laptops, desktops, docking stations, monitors, and other accessories) for multiple sites
  • Barcode IT systems to support inventory and asset management
  • Logistical support and warehousing for just in time deployment of assets
  • Procure one-off IT systems to support unique user or program requirements

The Solution

To support the client with their mission, COLAMCO uses its extensive relationships with IT OEMs, such as HP and Dell, to initiate and support technology roadmaps and exchanges for pre-engineering consulting and evaluation of IT products and systems. COLAMCO works with the OEMs to develop customized configurations that meet/exceed client's requirements. Upon finalization of configurations, COLAMCO provides full end-to-end logistics support to procure, store, and deploy assets as needed to various client's sites. Detailed reports are provided for receiving of inventory and upload into asset management systems. COLAMCO developed specialized services and processes to streamline procurement and delivery resulting in cost savings and increased speed of deployment.
